Last Year For Tomorrow
I’ll trade you last year for tomorrow;
A thankful recounting of this past year,
a year marked by hardship that ended in joy.
In full, vexing colors that describe
an undefineable set of seasons.
The calendar: a playful record examining
our human understanding of time.
Months are named and transmitted,
personal connections are
acknowledged and celebrated.
I’ll give up every day of last year,
for just one more tomorrow.
I am grateful for time.
Come out this weekend to see “Sleeve On My Heart” at Vox Populi- Open through March 2, 2014.
